|

Hi all,
I have been buried in my shop for a while now, trying to catch up to my backlog etc. I have a baskehilt available that needs a good home if anyone is interested please email me at PhoenixMeatalCreations@comcast.net.
The basket is based on the 1:35 example on page 41 of The Swords and the Sorrows book. The basket is accredited to Walter Allen. My version of it has steel thistles bridging the forward guards rather than silver which was used on the original, and my version does not have the 3rd thistle over the junction of the forward guards (it just doesn't look right to me). The blade is a modified Angus Trim XIX, the main modification is the extra fullers in the ricasso area. It is currently unsharpened but I can sharpen it on request. I do not have a scabbard available for this sword.
The specs for the sword are as follows:
33" long blade by 1-7/16" wide
~3-1/2" PoB (point of balance)
~22-1/2" CoP (center of percussion)
18-1/2" long fuller
3-7/8" ray skin covered grip with stainless steel overwire and decorated caps on either end of the grip.
3.3lb over all weight
Price is $1,250.00 +$15 shipping (in the US)
Thanks much for your interest in my work.

Hello Erik,
I hope you don't mind if I post a picture of the original for those who do not have access to The Swords and the Sorrows.
regards,
Stephen

Thanks for posting the picture of the original Stephan!
Allen, at this point my backlog and wait list extend to the fall of 2005 but I am going to do some restructuring of my business approach before I will be in a position to take any new orders, so at this point I don't know, but probably not until 2005 at least.
Thanks for the kind words about my work.
Erik

Very nice work.
Unfortunately very unexpected timing.
