My nose seems to catch the scent of a fake... Hard to tell, but if that piece is genuine, it would fetch a lot at a real auction. I saw a sword on Herrmann Historica's site; it was in much worse shape, and went for c. $2600.

I'm no expert, but my "BEWARE" register just went off on this one.

Hi Friends:

We have once more an authenticity problem, I don't know the seller, but has a good feedback rating for over 600 sales, and more than 3 years selling at Ebay ( in Germany ) ...
The opinions and comments given here are particulary important , because most of you are suppose to know a lot about swords, and your opinion really affects the potential buyer of a piece and the work of a dealer that could be a honest person.
Could be necessary to specify a good reason to declare that is ( or not ) a good piece.

Regards
Daniel

Checked some of his other auctions. A great many spurs - either he's selling a collection piecemeal, or he's found a hoard somewhere.... The other arms (daggers and such) looked OK.
