Gentlemen I require your assistance!!
I have been trying to find out info on the construction of bases both the jerkin combo and the lone skirt over armour.
I have searched for hours and hours and have come up with nothing. Cry
All the info i have is that they are cartridge pleated, knee length and worn as a lone skirt, part of a doublet or part of a jerkin according to wikipedia (not the most trustworthy source)
Any info on its construction is greatly appreciated.

I have made several of these over the years and the only way I have fonud to get them to look and hang exactly like the pictures is as follows.
Take the measurment around your waist and times it by three
Make asemicircle with this measurement as the inner circumference
mark every three inches along the top of the pattern: use box pleats, each three inches pleats into a one inch pleat
IF you youse a heavy material (ie wool) and bias tape tacked inside the pleats to hold them in place you will get crisp pleats that form shapes like in the artwork.

ps Im not a talior and Im not saying this is the absolute authentic way to do it, just the way that I know that works

Sorry, I dont have any good pics of them on this computer.
We took these pics of my waffenrock over my maximilian half armour, but its been in a box under a ton of junk and is all crumpled up at the moment.(note to self, store gear properly Sad. )
You realy have to press them properly before use, some people hang them up with each pleat weighted for a while to make the keep there shape.
