What method does A&A use to secure their hilts: threads or peening? I was under the impression that they were peened, but I was reading a thread over at SFI in which somebody described them as threaded with a pommel nut (this was specifically regarding the Durer sword. I'm currently getting ready to buy either a GBS or Durer from A&A, but this might change things. I'm specifically interested in the hilt assembly of these two swords.
P.S. Strongly leaning toward the GBS...

There are actually a few different hilt configurations that we use on our stock items. These are mainly dependent on the piece as certain hilts lend them selves to different structures. The two swords you are interested in have the pommels keyed to the tangs and then a threaded pommel nut which is peened down. If you want the pommel nut keyed and peened that is certainly possible as most swords can be finished, like the originals in more than one way.
Let me know if there are further questions you have or if the above is not clear.

Hey, Craig! I didn't realize that you were here on myArmoury...cool! Since we've already corresponded a few times via email through A&A. I'll just continue this discussion in that manner. Funny, I was going to email you guys with this same question, but I figured you would all have gone home for the weekend and wouldn't get to it 'til Monday.
Thanks,
Scott
