I may have lined up a WMA sparring partner, but we're both college students, and money is a concern, so I'm looking for free texts.
I've got the Fiore del Liberi translation offered by Valentine Armories/Knights of the Wild Rose and the partial Talhoffer translation from ARMA. Is this enough of a base, or should I be looking for more?
Much obliged to anyone who's willing to help.
P.S. No, I'm not planning to join ARMA (heard some things about them that are very disquieting), but I don't have any problems with gleaning text off their site.
Oh, East of sands and sunlit gulf, your blood is thin, your gods are few;
You could not break the Northern wolf and now the wolf has turned on you.
The fires that light the coasts of Spain fling shadows on the Eastern strand.
Master, your slave has come again with torch and axe in his right hand!

Buy Windsor's "Swordsman's Companion" . Really, it the best way to begin if you don't have a teacher.
Look at the online material and Windsor's book and decide if you prefer the Italian or the German style. Stick with one until you are comfortable with it.
For other Fiore translations, check http://www.fioredeiliberi.org/fiore/ and http://www.the-exiles.org/ . They are both working on the Getty and Morgan Fiore manuscripts. The Valentine translation isn't the best.

Here is an online version of common techniques in RenMA. The site is kind of ARMA Stockholm inofficial site. To the right is the english version.

And please don´t judge all ARMA members around the world out of what you heard, we have a few good men in our ranks to!
