Jay how do I put this ummmm....YES!

Jean ,Eric did a Sempach type halberd which just might have been modeled on one of the originals in the lobby of the Landhaus hotel in New Glarus(just a guess here but there are two late 16th early 17th century Sempach halberds hanging in the hotel lobby).

Dr.Jones will appearently be bringing a piece or two of original armour from his collection along with blades(yummy).

Allan, I tried to get directions to the round table but all the map websites I used didn't recognize the address in Rose. Several of them suggested Clyde, NY as the correct address. Is that the case? If you include your zip code it would help Mapquest as well.

Jay i'll raise Doug (its at his place our weekend shoppe) and get the zip from him but the simplest way to look at it is:

1) if you taking 90 get off at the Rt414 Clyde exit(I think its exit 40) and take 414 North for about 8-9 miles. This will take you through the town of Clyde and about 4 miles past Clyde is Rose. Rose ain't much but just past a closed red convienince store on your left at the top of a low hill you'll see a yellow house with white trim and a black porch rail with a white barn with black trim behind it and lots of cars parked in the yard on your right. Thats it(we're going out Friday night to set up so there may be some one passed out in the yard. you never know)

2) if you taking 104 West you'll go about 20-25 minutes past the Red Creek turn off to a flashing yellow light where you'll see a sign that says Rt414 North Rose. Go left onto 414 South and in about two miles you'll hit North Rose. Go through North Rose and you'll go another 4 or so miles on 414 South till you hit Rose and look for the afore mentioned yellow house with white trim, black porch rail, white barn with black trim, lots of cars and a possible passed out person in the yard on your right and thats it.

We've got a good number of our customers from faire comming tommorow so to sweeten the pot we're going to match the Albion 15% off on swords purchased Saturday with the same for armour and if you buy a sword we'll make it 20%. Should be good weather most all day. Looking forward to a good time.

I'm in Syracuse as I type this. We're staying with my sister in law so we won't have to drive to Rose from Albany tomorrow. I am bringing 5 of my swords (including a Samson and Massey PW leafie), a sirupati khukuri, a dirk and of course the Peat Monster. See you then.

Just wraped the event up, Dr.Jones brought a first century Celtic sword ,10thcentury Viking sword,14th century sword and a14th century greatsword blade rehilted in the 16th century as a bearing sword as well as a 15-16th cetury Turkish helmet that were well just plain amazing! Todd Sullivans WMA demo was EXCELLENT! Had a few no shows but still made some sales of Albions. I was REALLY impressed with Eric's Sovereign, it cut like a monster and his custom halberd by Eric MchHugh was um..er..the @#$%! Jay Barron brought a great selection of blades from his pesonal collection as well. We had a great time and are looking to do this again in the spring. Eric and Jay, Jason did finally ....um.. refund ,TWICE! but he's still standing.

I had a great time. The Albion swords lived up to all their hype as I expected they would. I was also very happy to get to cut with my Jody Samson Carolingian for the first time. His swords are not just for looks. It was a fantastic cutter as well. I loved Dr. Jones' antiques. I also really appreciated how accessible he allowed them to be. We got to pick up all of them including the 1st c. celtic sword. It was quite amusing how he used the still sharp blade of his 14th c. type XV to open a bag of peanuts. There is truly something that stirs in you when you hold a 1000 year old viking sword in your hand. I was surprised just how close it felt to my carolingian. We all also enjoyed Todd's demo as well as getting to try our hand at beating hot steel. I'll have to try more of that at some point. Thanks to Albion, Allan and the rest of the MT crew for a fun day.

Steve we'll be putting up some pics as soon as we can get some of the ones taken by other folks. It was pretty windy for a good portion of the day and about halfway though our camera and tripod got blown over trashing the camera so we've only got pics halfway through the day. We took a bunch of Dr. Jones stuff and he extended an open invitation to us to come out to his place to take in the rest of his extensive collection which we'll be taking him up on next month. When Dr. Jones saw Erics halberd he said"oh I wish i'd known you guys were into pole arms I would have brought some".

Allan, I'm looking forward to the pictures. They may make me a little nostalgic. I spent my formative years in upstate NY, but have not even visited for 30 years!

That is unfortunate. Sad I'm sure this incident had nothing to do with people having over-indulged the night before Laughing Out Loud

That sounds like a fabulous opportunity Cool . Make sure you have resolved the camera issue before you go, so that we can all vicariously share your experience!

Pics you say,

Looks like you all had an excellent day. Thanks for the photos!

Looks like a goodly selection of Albions.
Of the MT pieces, I am particularly drawn to the shell guard swords.
Of Dr. Jones' pieces, I really like the 15th century ?typeXV?

Any way you can provide names to go with the attendee faces? (I know that is often difficult).
