I'll be in the Cork area (with car) in September. Are there any collections of arms and armour in the vicinity? I see that there are a number of museums concerning Irish independence (early 20th c.), but I'm not seeing any listings describing collections of early stuff (other than the French Armada museum, which is of interest, but also too late for my main interests). I'm especially interested in 16th and 17th c., but ancient and medieval will do in a pinch. What, in your opinion, should I not miss while visiting?
