Five billets - three damascus billets for damascus core and two billets for each of the two cutting edges
I always make damascus packets of larger amount of material to have enough. Here it is too much I think - these 5 billets are planned to be a sword but my friend asked me if I am going to make a damascus wrecking ball 😀 but more material is better than less material

You can tell it's going to be a one handed sword because there's only one glove for size in the pictures.

If this turns out the way I think and hope it does, the pattern on this blade will be absolutely stunning. I'll be following this with great interest. .....McM

I made the wooden part of the handle and my friend, a leathercrafter, made a leather part for it.The sword itself is completely finished. The scabbard is still to be made (it will be in the similar style as the handle + brass fitting at the bottom of the scabbard). This will take my friend cca 2 weeks. Then the sword will be available for sale. I am considering a silent auction unless there is somebody already seriously interested in the sword (we can discuss the design of the scabbard in this case). For more info please PM me.

DAMASCUS SWORD FOR SALE via SILENT AUCTION
This is the damascus sword that many of you watched making of. It took me cca 18 months with pauses and I always loved getting back to this project . The core of the sword is made of three damascus steel billets (each is made of hard and mild steel) - like in viking times. The billets on the outer sides of the sword are made of hard carbon steel. I made the sword using as much medieval techniques as possible. The sword is of higher quality than swords in viking times, but I dont recommend to use it in real fight. The sword is blunt now - cca 0.5mm. I didnt sharpen it because I supposed the customer will carry it and it will be safer this way.
Its scabbard has a wooden core covered with leather with a brass fitting at the end. Total length of the sword is 743mm (handle from guard to guard is 101mm). The guards are decorated with brass wire inlay.
- auction ends on Monday 18.03.2019 22:00 CET
- starting price 2800 € (shipping included)
- minimal bid 50 € (offers are binding !)
Please PM me your offers. Thank you and good luck!
