|
|
Hello to all the Estonian myArmoury users (and anyone else too!): does anyone have better photos of this grip? I'm specifically looking for photos that show something of the grip cross section, which looks to me like a very rounded rectangle. I'm also curious of the grip material. I would assume some sort of metal, maybe a cast copper alloy tube, but the little incuts at the top and bottom of the grip make me wonder if the grip is organic? Incuts like that can be seen on a number or surviving horn or bone/antler grips, so I'm curious. They could always be for decorative metallic elements (who doesn't want to pimp their sword?), but without a color photo or a description, the grip could have used those for extra security in adhering possible organic plates.
Any dating information would be great too!
