Hello all,

I would appreciate any assistance in identifying a rapier which I have inherited and restored. Unfortunately I know very little of it other than it was kept in a theatre prop rental warehouse for many years. It has some small notches in the blade from previous use, it has an unusual fuller off centre on opposite sides of the blade (if you see what I mean from the pictures). It’s screw pommel (I’ve fully taken it apart to restore it) and it’s springy enough to bend and come back like spring steel and (to my inexpert eye) looks like it has been forged rather than cut from a sheet . The two bits I thought might be clues are that the grip has a number ‘4’ marked onto it and the blade has a makers mark that I am unfamiliar with (see pictures). More pictures and details available if it helps!

Many thanks in advance for any light that can be shed!

George
