Hi guys, here is a new piece and I hope you like it. Any questions or comments please fire away.

This is an Italian style rondel from around 1400 and based on manuscript pictures.

The grip itself is made from bone panels, though the originals were probably Ivory. The grip dividers are brass.
The top rondel has some simple engraved and inked patterning and a bronze tang button.

The blade is a robust 3/8"/10mm thick and is of an unusual but Italian form, to give something very tough, but still delicate looking. The main edge is a hollow ground and the back edge has a sharpened fore section and the rear is partially hollow ground, but to leave a flat on the back and of course the spine is asymmetric.

Overall the blade is just over 12"/310mm

The sheath has a top cup to hold the rondel and is finished with fabricated brass fittings. It is formed from veg tan leather and is moulded to fit the blade and its unusual shape.

The sheath is not yet dyed and can be coloured to the customers requirement. Available (12 Jan 18)

Tod

God bless you, Leo. It's gorgeous and realistic to the period!

It’s even more beautiful in the hand than it is in th epicures.
Probably my most beautiful, piece from Tod to date, and unlikely to be surpassed any time soon.

Thanks Tod.
