HI All,

This seax was a commission.

The blade is by Paul Binns and a customer asked me to hilt and sheathe it and here is the result and I hope you like it.

The blade is a lovely pattern welded piece by Paul, with a broken back and a very broad blade. It is fitted into a box wood handle with a horn 'ferrule' at the front and a wrought iron plate/pommel at the rear which was a customer requirement.

The sheath is loosely based on a few different pieces and the bar fittings are taken from Aachen seax.

Overall length of the knife is 50cm/20" and the blade is 30cm/12"

Any comments or questions are of course welcome.

Regards

Tod

As always, you've delivered a gorgeous piece. I just love this seax. Whoever commissioned it is very lucky!
