Hi all,
I have the feeling that my question would be out of place - but as many experienced guys are strolling here, I would like to take the chance to ask the question. Of course, don't hesitate to remove that thread if you think that it is not legit on the forum.
As I tinker knives lately, I ordered a chinese cleaver for a few euros, to recut and modify it. I know a couple of things on the steel used for it: it's sheet steel, hardened to 56/58HRC, and the steel is called a "Su Steel".
It seems like this Su Steel is pretty widespread in China, I guess for domestic use, but I didn't find any informations on it. Would somebody know something about it? What kind of steel is it?
