After your opinions and some others, I've decided to tackle this project by myself.

Really appreciated your video, liked the "how I did it" details. Your success just might have inspired me to attempt restoring a similar Japanese blade. And my compliments on your patience ....

Thanks for the kind words!
It did take a lot of patience, especially the seemingly endless grinding/polishing got really tiresome after a while.
Did not enjoy that part very much after a few days/hours, but really liked doing all the rest though
