Hello everyone,

I'm curious - does anyone recognize this sword or who may have made it?

Looks good but there is no markings

I would have to say a mid-to-late 20th century piece, possibly Spanish or early Indian. If there are no markings, the only thing to do is establish a provenance-- ask the past owner "where did you get it, when did you get it, from whom" etc. and work your way up.

That looks like it might possibly be a prop sword that would have been sold with a decorative suit of armor. I could be dead-wrong though. Wouldn't be the first time...or the last. Worried

Wait a minute! I take that back. I believe what you have there is a zweihander from American Fencing. Looks just like it. They are closed due to a fire, but you can see a photo on the site, under 'broadswords'. www.amfence.com

Agreed with Mark. The lack of any fullers seems unique--every other zweihander I've seen has them.

I'm *almost* 100% positive it's the same sword. In my early days of collecting, I thought about buying one to cure my 'big sword' cravings. I'm glad I waited on my Hanwei Lowlander. Craving cured. Wink
