First , if posted in wrong area oops sorry. Mods please don't be too harsh .
I'm new to the hobby of historical reenactment and I'm building a crusader character, and I need help finding a few things .
Let me say I live in Japan and I believe the laws are such that a double edged sword is illegal but I would like to find a good sword belt also a good helmet as well as outer clothes. I can find common venders I won't mention any names but they seem to be clearing houses for LARP and I'm unsure of the quality they offer .
I do have a good coif, mail shirt and gambeson but need to source the rest .
Any help is appreciated
Thanks

In Japan...I don't know about sword laws. I'm pretty sure that Kult of Athena ships worldwide. There, you can find most anything you might need at probably the best prices. You might contact them first to check on shipping to that country. Good luck!...McM

If double edged swords are a problem, you could go for a falchion, and a polearm or dane axe.

Try contacting Jay Noyes at Castle Tintagel. He runs a group that does HEMA and BotN/IMCF-style combat and would know the relevant laws as well as any workarounds his group has come up with so far.
