Medievalists.net has offered a link to a research paper on Transylvanian maces from the thirteenth to sixteenth century (although at least seven of the mace heads could be from the 12th century). The author makes references to existing mace typologies in order to classify the different Transylvanian finds. Of greatest interest to many enthusiasts is the fact that he includes pictures of over 30 different maces, most of which are photographed from both the side and from top-down. The photographs begin on page 58, and the author includes dimensions for the artifacts shown.
Thank you for posting this, Craig! Very interesting! I found the bit about the one head being used as a bucket weight in a well quite amusing. The illustrations at the end have motivated me to study up on my Talhoffer. Thanks again! ....McM''Life is like a box of chocolates...'' --- F. Gump
