I was cleaning my knife today, when a friend asked what the deal was with the ring. I told him it was a Karambit, and that the ring was to help with retention while fighting. I then realized I knew nothing else what-so-ever about this type of knife. Can anyone help me out? History, cool pictures, techniques, etc. are all welcome. I'll post a pic of mine when I get the chance.
