Our good friend, and Albion Armorers own, Eric McHugh is currently on a research trip to Sweden , working along side the great swordsmith Peter Johnsson, and documenting as much infomation as he can !

Knowing 'ol Mac is forever the basket-hilt nut Eric was kind enough to send me the following pic's that he snapped at the Royal Armoury , Stockholm, and gave me permission to share them with everyone here !

Many thanks Eric , and keep up the great work ! Mac

The first piece is a 'Pinch of Snuff' variant ,with detatchable forward guards, and horseman's ring !
*Note the big chunk missing at the rear guard / side panel ..... Ouch !

This last pic was taken at the Skokloster Museum, and features the man himself !

Neat pics. Thanks to Eric for thinking of you Mac, and to you for posting them.

While in Chicago this weekend I saw an extremely nice baskethilt at the Chicago Art Institute that you would have loved. It was right next to a beautiful Schiavona that Nathan would have died for.

Unfortunately they were behind a very thick pane of glass Mad
