Actually, I was planning to start another aspis this weekend! My deck is covered with 2 feet of snow, so I can't do any of the planing and smoothing, but I can at least cut some wood and glue it together. Beats shovelling...

I have extensively read your web page Matthew! you already know that i have taken much inspiration from it!

actually i was looking at emblems to decorate mine (well, at the moment i do not have it, but i will have an aspis very soon)

i'm putting together an etruscan hoplite kit so i should find an italian emblem but the links that you have provided are an excellent starting point
