So granted this is an anonymous board, but anyone who knows me knows I'm a history nerd and a bit of a Romanophile with ancient Rome being probably my favorite period. So for Christmas my wonderful wife, who I absolutely do not deserve, got me a Pompeii Gladius from Albion swords. I know the Pompeii Gladius isn't the quintessential Roman Gladius, but it's always been my favorite... Hopefully it will be complete and waiting for me by the time I get home from deployment.

Well, nice gift. But here is what I got, Leech and Rigdon officers sword.
This conversation ought to be moved to the Off Topic discussion though.

I've had a chance to handle an Albion gladius, you're going to love it!

A Trajan Pompeii gladius? So this is your best Christmas present, Michael.

Well considering I'm in the sandbox till mid-Summer and I've been eyeing this thing for about 2 years now, yes it's the best Christmas present I've ever received.
Now if we're talking birthday gifts that's different... But I don't kiss and tell.

Congrats Michael! I agree that those proportions are the best I've ever seen on a Roman weapon!
