What sort of dagger, or do you mean a single edged knife?
Also, define 'German'. Do you mean Allemanic, Thuringian, Saxon, Frankish etc? It makes a difference as some would have been subject to late Roman influence.

Hey. Thanks for getting back to me.
My idea is pre heavy roman influence. Not pre roman contact. I am looking at Germans who have not intermingled too much. My time period is 2nd century bc to 2nd century ad. Basically the beginning of the second migration era. My dagger is not period if that time. The handle is I believe. As far as which group I would say Teutons but I am open.
