I watched your 1st video, Lancelot. It shows you testing a katana-like sword with a huge blade while your student Dung a medieval sword. My question: What were you and him cutting in that video?
You have power over your mind - not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength

The sword I used was my custom made sword, a huge Chinese 2 handed straight Dao that I called Deva Slayer. Dung was using a cold steel grosse messer. We were cutting wet newspapers rolls.

I tried the student's Martial Art Sword L6 katana first, then let him do his test. He passed his test, then grown cocky and tried to "short cut" the roll, ended up failed. He found that newspapers roll of this size, was more difficult than a full roll of tatami, which he could cut with short cut.
