Because a lot of people her on this board are from the other site of the ocean (Amerika),

And because i have bin thinking of buying something from the market place I wash wandering if there where people who would have some experiense in shipping/sending swords and such across the oceans...
How should a sword be wrapped?
Is it expencive to send it and what metods of payment are there available and (quick) and reliable??
I have done some payment by means of Paypall for a membership of some sybercommunitie, but my experience with pay pall is all but positive. Probably because of my lac of knowlege of English or (and thats my oppinion) the user unfriendly interface and services (services??) Worried

And what about taking the stuff on a plane yourself??
Is there anybody who hase don that ?? I quess rap it up real good un recognisable and don't take it as hand luggage but put it with the gargo...

A good sword will only be sharp, in the hands of a wise man…

I am great fan of everything Celtic BC, including there weapons.

I am not the most knowledgeable on the matter, but since noone else has replied...

There are many methods of shipment and payment, and if you are purchasing from someone abroad they usually determine both. Generally one desires crush-proof packaging that isolates the sword from external stress. Albion does this by suspending their blades within the box using foam blocks. I believe Lutel is also known for their solid packaging using fitted styrofoam. MRL just wraps the sword in plastic and bubblewrap and puts it in the box with some paper packing. The two main concerns are that the sword is protected from damage and that those handling the package are not injured by its contents (which could happen if, for example, the blade tip pierced the box).

In any case, as to taking a sword on aircraft yourself:

Yes, I have done this.
No, you don't want to try to take it as carry-on.
Yes, you do want to make certain the airline knows what it is (they will usually ask anyway).

For myself, I use a hard-side gun case which is sized for two scoped rifles. This will comfortably fit a sharp, a blunt, and a waster, or some combination thereof. More if you pack carefully and perhaps wrap the hilts so they don't abrade one another. As it is a gun case, it is fairly obvious to the airline that it contains something potentially dangerous. I view this as a good thing, and have not personally had any problems.

Be sure to contact the airline you intend to fly and ask their policy regarding such items. It may vary.
Laws also vary between countries, so be certain that whatever type of blade you are shipping/transporting is permitted at its intended destination.
