Some of you may have heard that we at BKS are hosting a new version of the hit web show MAN AT ARMS. Our version is called Reforged and will be focusing on hybrids of popular weapons.
This show will mostly be far out fantasy pieces, but we will show a lot of process that applies to historical pieces.
This first episode shows a traditional gauntlet with a bit of a twist and I am hoping that some of you enjoy it. Please don't pick on us for the demos at the end of the video. They are a bit sill, but such us life.

Wasn't the last Wolverine movie about him going to Japan in order to get new claws forged out of superior nippon steel?
But nice work, these videos seem to be sparking people's interest in forging.

Very cool video Matt.
Is there any method I could use to get in touch with you guys regarding an old unfinished order? My emails haven't been replied to in a while and I'm starting to get nervous.

Heat-treating that gauntlet as a whole looks just awesome. Never mind the batman stuff, a red-hot gauntlet of death has a nice touch to it. Unless you touch it.

Beat me to it! The assembled heat treat was very cool!
...but the sound effects added during the "testing"

The assembled heat treat is the only way to go with articulated stuff like a gauntlet. We build a webbing on the inside to help prevent warping. If it warps after HT there is very little that you can do to fix it without having to re-heat treat it.
Bryan, these days I am chained to the grinder and I literally don't ever set foot in the office anymore. I will check with Kerry and see where he is and if need be I will get it finished for you personally.

How does blue-ing lIke this hold up?
I have ordered a pair of high-polish gauntlets from Grettir T Slow since blackened gauntlets would stand out like a sore thumb in my current kit, but eventually, I might want to go the blackened route and blackening heat-treated steel without messing up the temper seems like a difficult thing to do.

I holds up just fine under normal use. It can scratch, but it's easy enough to touch up. If you don't neutralize it after application it will turn to rust in no time. Keep it heavily oiled for a while after blueing too.

Sorry to de-rail the thread, but I was wondering what the best way to contact you guys about some possible custom work and some pricing of the fencing blade sets on the bks website. I've already sent an email to the email listed on the website, but I didn't know if it was outdated or not the best way to get in touch with you guys.
