A little late but the fella who blacksmiths with us made this for me for Christmas and I thought he did a really nice job on it.
I was very pleasantly surprised!

Allan;

Very nice knife and very nice of the person giving it to you.

Is the color of the picture a bit off as it has a very golden / yellow look on my computer screen.

Very attractive pattern, is it a nickel and steel damascus or does it use two very different carbon content steels to get that dramatic contrast.

I also assume that the boldness of the pattern is due to a low number of layers. (Steel folded over a small number of times I guess.)

Maybe you could use his skills to offer a limited number of these or different types of daggers to your product line.

Hmmmmm, a nice Rondelle dagger using a similar damascus pattern would be very appealling. (Maybe not historically correct ! But sometimes who cares .........LOL. Sometimes people forget that they are in the twentyfirst century trying to enjoy their passion for history ! What is important is when going closer to fantasy than history that one is aware of the difference.)

Could fill the lack of dagger types offered currently by Albion maybe. (Not in competition to the main line of products but as an occasionnal custom addition to what is available. )

You can easily give up your freedom. You have to fight hard to get it back!

Hi Jean , the yellowish tint is due to me being lousy with a camera. The blade and the quillons are 1095 and nickle(his first try at forgewelding nickle) and is almost shiney black with brite silver. Your correct the billet made to forge out the blade was folded twice he said so you have the thick "veins" of silver instead of a finer "spider web" from more folds resulting in more layers. I was really impressed with it .
