So I was thinking at doing some minor customization to an old boring looking sword I had lying around and was wondering if there was any evidence for blued decorations on medieval swords? I know, or think I know Wink that blued decorations were reasonably common in the renaissance but I don't know anything about earlier periods so I was hoping the brilliant minds here could give me some help on this.
Thanks

I think there must be somebody who's an expert on bluing sword blades in this forum, Brandon.

I think there is very few evidence for bluing during the medieval times. One viking sword analyzed is said to be blued when it was made and that's all I know.
