While just now perusing the pages of KOA and other fine sellers, I come across throwing axes called hurlbats. Are these in any way historically inspired? I was under the impression that just about the only historic throwing axes were Fransiscas and certain tomahawks, but I could be wrong. If these hurlbats were used in antiquity...when...where...by who? They look way too modern, but once again, I could be wrong. I'm just recently getting into axes. Can't really see throwing a weapon at an enemy that can pick it up and throw it back at me if I miss. From the looks of them, I bet they'd be a lot of fun on a big pine-round target from about 30 feet. Just wondering.............McM''Life is like a box of chocolates...'' --- F. Gump
