Hello Folks, its been a while , but Evolution Arms has Atrims in stock for immediate delivery. Hurry up for "be there by Christmas " shipping.

Despite recent rumblings, right now and for the foreseeable future , the only place you are going to Atrims evolved like this is Evolution Arms at torionsword.com

There is a very nice selection of types available this time . We have a quick and darty XIV; a nimble , archetypical XII ; an agile , versatile XVIIIb longsword, and a meaty, powerful XIIIa War Sword.

Each sword is permanently assembled using Gus's bulletproof mechanical method. Each is polished to a high shine , which is both beautiful for display , and more resistant of surface corrosion. New guard styles are featured , and skilled leather wraps on the carved , shaped grip cores. The edges are super-refined and smooth as butter.

All these qualities go together to make these new swords Gus is making arguably the best swords of their type ever on the market. What I mean by that is swords that focus on performance as Atrims always have , but with a highly refined sense of aesthetic as well . There is also a definite nod to historicity with respect to tradition without sacrificing the benefits of modern machining and technical knowledge. However for me the Evolution Arms swords have one feature which is the defining characteristic which makes them stand out .

Historically Accurate Geometric Cross Sections

Gus is turning out true lenticular cross sections where many production swords - even customs - have more of flattened hex geometry . The geometry is well done and the cutting power is tremendous. In fact , this is the major difference in the 1315 of yesteryear and the 1315 today , the historically correct lenticular cross section after the fuller.

Well enough of my prattle , bring on the swords....

Flared - Shoulders XIV

I'm not a big fan of single handed swords , which is why those who know me should be given pause when I say that this one is perhaps my favorite of the bunch. I can't imagine a more perfect feeling piece in the hand. When I pick it up , it wants to dance. I had to literally restrain myself from cutting with it last night... its not mine to cut with, but it begs you to pick it up, caress it and use it.

This one has a shaped wooden core , but otherwise is unfinished. This sword will be sent to a fellow Georgia sword business , Crusader Monk , one of Evolution Arms's new production partners, for a full dress. If someone is interested , contact me quick and you can pick to your druthers what clothes she wears, otherwise I'll just have Sarge do as he sees fit.

Type XII (1315)

This is the quintessential jack of all trades do anything sword. The type itself is a classic and this version of Gus's interpretation of it , the 1315 , is a classic in its own right . However this isn't yesterday's 1315. There are a few changes , the most noticeable being the lenticular tip section. There is also the Selective tempering , drawing back the hardness of the spine and the shoulders while leaving the edges hard , and they take a hell of an edge. The polish is also in the new buffed finish. Expertly wrapped black leather handle pairs with heat-blued furniture to bring a timeless look to this classical knight's sword.

XIIIa Warsword

This , monster of a blade was known in another incarnation as the CF Warsword. This is a imposing , intimidating chunk of steel. The lenticular geometry is well done and the fuller really draws my eye. With its super sharp edges , every time I pick this up I shudder at the mass to think how much energy would deliver those edges to the target.
The black leather and blackened fittings lend a mean ,no-nonsense look to this brutal cleaver.

Price : $850

Weight : 3 lbs 8 oz.
Blade : 37 inches
Width (base) 2 inches
Width ( one in. from tip) 1.5 in
Grip : 8 in
OAL : 47 in
POB: 7 in
COP: 24 in

Type XVIIIb Longsword (1520)

If the XIV doesn't take 1st place with me , it is definitely this versatile longsword typical of the 15th century. The 1520 has long been regarded by many in the WMA community as a paradox sword. It is a big , powerful sword which neither looks nor feels like a big powerful sword. It feels like a magic wand . It flows through guards , accelerates quickly , stops precisely. It thrusts with the best and it has been reported that it cuts just as well. This is what a longsword should be... Lively enough to fence , stout enough for battle , and an all around performer. The Differential Tempering makes for a nice comination of spring and sharp.
This seemingly simple looking blade actually is quite complex with a profile and distal taper ( a lot of hand work ) that makes this large sword feel amazingly light.
The simple black on black lends a stark aesthetic to this no-nonsense weapon.

Price $1050

Weight : 2lbs 10 oz
Blade : 36.5 in

Very nice.

How long is the grip on the XVIIIb? You have it listed as 1 7/8 inches, a typo.
