Hi

The vast majority of crossbow bolt quivers in european museums date from the second half of XV century or later and are covered in fur (wild boars or from other animals.) But what did the XIV century quiver looked? Have any extant pieces survived or maybe just in manuscript illustrations/effigies and such?

I´m not aware of any surviving extant pieces, but there are some illustrated in manuscripts. Check this one, from the Romance of Alexander. It does not say a lot about their construction, but the shape looks much different from 15th C quivers.
