I just got Hanwei's sword catalog and noticed that they're mass producing antiqued versions of their Scots baskets and mortuary sword! Sure enough, the pieces are for sale online (see below). I guess I just haven't been paying attention.

I think they didn't take the basket far enough. Just looks rusty.

What Sean! You didn't post a pic of the Mortuary for me? Shame..Shame.....

At the Atlanta Blade show this year, they had the antiqued basket-hilts and a few others antiqued out
at the CASI booth. They looked better in person, but still not too wonderful...time does a better job.

I saw them in Atlanta... At the time I wanted one. Still want one if I can find a good price. However I have heard that the basket on these are stainless. The "rust" does not look like rust. It appears to be some form of paint coating. (which would make sense if it is really stainless steel). So maybe it is an antiqued japaned baskethilt Eek!

Here are some pics from the show.

Just got the new catalog today. The antiqued Mortuary and Bastard swords look nice, indeed.
Now if only they could be pursuaded to produce a Schiavona.....CASI are ya' listening?
