Uh oh, not the type of news you want to hear when the culprit uses your hobby to terrorize people.

This crazy man takes 2 katanas into a mall.
One of the shop assistants says, "we can't serve you if you bring that in here"
One of the katanas replies" would you believe that he started out as a pimple on my pommel."

i see articles like this and think, 'just great, another maniac.' in all honesty he could have been swinging around 2 sticks and I'd give the same reaction.

no one was harmed so i feel like a little bit of light humor is ok, so honestly it looked like he got those out of the bud-k cheapo page, if that's the case, he was clearly putting himself in more danger than the people around him. Razz

Well, I really hope he gets the psychiatric help he needs.

That said, there was a case a few years back in Toronto where this fellow was walking down the street with one of those really bad stainless steel fantasy swords strapped to his back (one of those ones with a big skull on the guard, as I recall). The locals got nervous and called the police, who brought him in on a "intention to cause public mischief" charge (or whatever the thing is called).

When the police asked him why he was carrying this whopping big sword on his back in the middle of Toronto, he replied "because my lightsaber doesn't work in this rarefied atmosphere."

True story.

(And, as a kicker, I found out about this when a friend in the convention circuit told me about it, and since I had been running a "how to buy a sword" presentation at the conventions at that time, people had asked if it was me...despite the fact that I don't buy swords like that, and I live in a city around 300 km away. To which I added on the phone to my friend, "Besides, my lightsaber DOES work in this rarefied atmosphere!")

Heh Laughing Out Loud
You know, it's amusing to me "not the situation really" but the fact that he dual wielded katanas.

I think this guy has been playing too many video games or watching some cheesy movies.

Well the article mentions that one is 19 inches and the other is 27, so its really a Daisho and not two Katana.
