Hi
It was my little bones (legs), deer, so I made a saex.
It forged from a single piece of iron, virtually from the beginning to the end only with a hammer.
Rasp I used only to offset the handle, to establish lining of the bone.
The circles on the plates made with an iron stylus, rivets are copper.
Overall length 39.5 cm, 27.5 cm blade.
The blade at the widest point is 44 mm.
I put the original picture from a museum in Leiden.
For those interested in price of 79 USD.
Ibor.

Lovely work Ibor,
Just a little bit too late a period knife for me, otherwise I'd buy that in an instant.

Impressive!
You are not asking near enough for such work...
