Merry Christmas everyone,
while watching the National Lampoons Christmas Vacation - great film, also a good old Christmas tradition - and this scene in particular I couldn't help but wonder if one of those sleds would work as a shield.

Shields of similar dimensions can be found everywhere, here is just one example from Capo Ferros Manual

Given that the Windlass Steel Shield is about thrice the price of one of these sleds and the sled would only need the attachment of some handles, that might just be an alternative if it holds up.

Has anyone every tried this?
How thick are these sleds?

I personally like using satellite dishes and rolling the edges in a bit...Pretty much done for you.
