I have recieved many requests for information about how the hilt components are cast on.
So I made a video of the process.

It's not that I would trade my lot
For any other man's,
Nor that I will be ashamed
Of my work torn hands-
For I have chosen the path I tread
Knowing it would be steep,
And I will take the joys thereof
And the consequences reap.

This is great Ben. It's funny... I've just started doing this with 'pewter' but wasn't even sure if there was a precedent for it. And I came up with something pretty much like what you have in your video.. although I used a copper collar which was a mistake.. even annealed it was still too stiff. So I ended up duct taping it! Which worked fine... but I will now use cardboard. :-)
Anyway.. thanks for helping me to refine this process.....
