CAn anyone at Albion tell me what the major differences between the Soverign and the Sheriff are besides the fullers and the bronze pommel only being on the Soverign?

The Sheriff will be slightly lighter and more simple in style overall. A restrained elegance and authority is the idea.
By lighter I mean the feel and heft, not neccessarily actual weight. The final weight has still to be seen when I get the blade to work with.

The hilt furniture will be steel. No bronze pommel. Simple flat-armed cross and a good sturdy wheel pommel.
It will have a very different visual character from the Sovereign, but the handling differences will not be that dramatical, but noticeable. With the single fuller the blade turns into another sort of beast...

Hope this helps.

How exactly does the single fuller alter its handling?

As an owner of the Sovereign and by looking at the Sheriff's design, I doubt that there will be a marked difference to it. Certainly the single fuller versus the double fuller will not contribute mightily. In overall profile it looks to be extremely similiar but the final product will tell. The Sov is fast and authoritative and one would suspect would impart severe blunt trauma if anything (due to lack of penetration or being blunt). Being so short by comparison to many swords it is unquantifiable until felt in the hand what power lies in it. The same qualities will probably be reflected in the Sheriff as well.

As I said in my previous post:

Sorry, but a more exact description than that is not possible to give untill I have the first proto blade to work with.
I do not intend to change things dramatically, only tweak them slightly.

Hope that helps.
