Mark your Calendars for the Inaugural
CHIVALRIC MARTIAL ARTS INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM
May 8 —May 11, 2012 — Taylor, Texas
http://www.chivalricmartialartsinternational.com/index.php
Interested in adding horsemanship into your HEMA studies? Then this symposium may be for you.
What CMAI offers?
CMAI will give you the opportunity to learn from some of the finest instructors from around the world in many aspects of the chivalry from the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. You will learn or improve your skills with the longsword, poleaxe, spear, dagger, even jousting and mounted combat. You now have the opportunity to experience the full expanse of knightly training and combat, from world-renowned experts in each discipline. This is your chance to Study the Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) while connecting with our equestrian heritage!
Even better, riding experience is not a prerequisite to taking many of the equestrian classes as we will offer several beginner tracks as well as those for the accomplished rider. There will be some access to several trained horses for those who may need them.
In addition, participants in the CMAI symposium will also have the opportunity to use their acquired skills in a series of mounted and foot combat tournaments during the Lysts on the Lake jousting tournament on May 11-13, 2012. Show off what you learned in a friendly, but competitive, tournament format.
If you take your martial arts and history seriously, you can't afford to miss CMAI!

This looks, without resorting to hyperbole at all, AWESOME. Shame I'll be getting back from a trip to Spain right as it starts, as it's only about a four-hour drive from me!
