This is my first real post on here,so Hello to all.

I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me on shield bosses for byzantine varangian guardsmen,as i've been struggling to find anything from period artwork, should i be looking along the lines of the smaller kite shield bosses like the Norman ones or larger like viking ones.
I have seen some imagery with small ones with flower petal effect around the flange, but not on period art work.
