|
|
According to studies of human remains, it seems that in the 10th century or so a male's average height was about 5'8" inches in europe, prior to the Black Death, Mini Ice Age, and Industrial revolution at which time the height went down.
I was curious, is there any info as to average height of different time periods based on armour?
Might have to be a grain of salt with this though, armour was of course most often for the wealthy, who should be a bit taller than average, better nutrition, living condidions, etc. etc.

Hi Gary, I don't know about average heights over different times and places, but if you wanted to use armour as a guide, I doubt armour would be of much help, as only full suits (non composites) would be useful in determining an individuals height, and those are few, and were only used for a short period of time.

Since we have existing threads covering this topic, can any further discussion happen in one of those so we don't end up with info in duplicate places?
