|
Where: Library Gallery, Hampshire College, Amherst, Massachusetts
What: "Bondi" - An exhibit of reconstructed archaeological artifacts from Viking-age Scandinavia. Very many of the items are hand-crafted by Hampshire College students and staff, including members of the Blacksmiths Guild, woodworkers, armorers, seamstresses, and others! The actual items will include farm tools and house accessories (as per the name, referring to Norse farmers), jewelry, and some arms and armor.
When: March 2nd through March 6th. More specific times to follow.
Who: The exhibit is the project of Freya Roe, a soon-to-be graduating student who has concentrated in Viking-era archaeology. She has reached out to the community of the school to augment her research with their skill and craft, and we have obliged with enthusiasm!
Why: Come if you live in or anywhere near western Massachusetts, or from farther if you are inclined! Also to support interest in the subject and its pursuit among the younger generation!
How: Transportation!
More details to follow! Hope to see you there!
