This is a bolo type sword knife any ID of origin? The scabbard is metal but was probably covered by leather at one time.

Dennis, are there any markings? Look at the base of the blade by the guard, on the guard and on that metal ring on the grip.

I couldn't seem to find any markings but I found a picture on an auction site that labels a somewhat similar sword as a Spanish American War era (Spanish) artillery short sword. The photo is small but there are similarities.
