Today I would like to present you a bollock dagger I finished a few days
ago.

The handle is a close copy of a find from Germany (dated 1st half of 14th century), the blade outline is
also exact but instead of the rhombical crosssection I went for a triangular one.

Here is an image of the restore find:

The handle is made of oiled and waxed elm, the blade is C45, the sheath
core is beech, the leather sheath covering is goat, all mounts and fittings are
tinned brass.
The scabbard slide and chape are after english finds.
The pommel plate is after a church window decoration in Vienna from the
same time. Wink

overall length of dagger: 340mm
blade length: 225mm
max blade width: 28mm
max blade thickness: 8mm

Let me know what you think...

This is a beautiful dagger. Excellent work! I really like the way the embossing on the leather turned out. Happy

i look at it and my eye is just drawn to the leather work and the grain pattern of the wood.
