Karl,
That looks pretty cool! That's a nice contrast with the blackened fittings and tiger-eyes.
(A myArmoury hint: unlike other forums, you can attach multiple pics to the same post. Attach away!)

That looks mighty nice! Yours looks great as well, Chad. My wife likes it too. All this great sword porn exposure is
slowly weakening her resolve. I'll have an Albion yet .

Karl, if you don't mind me asking, how did you affix the stones to the pommel? Further, is there enough weight/mass difference between the pommel empty and with the stones to affect handling at all?
Thanks!
BTW: I've got a friend that really likes the stone, tiger's eye. . . very pretty sword. . . again, the man-jewelry marches on!!!!

That looks great!! I never thought of putting stones in the hilt recesses, but I have been toying with the idea of installing an antique coin in each side of the pommel of my sovereign. Anyone have any idea where I can get correct antique (looking) replica coins about 20 mm in diameter? My pommel is steel so I think a copper or gold (fake I am NOT rich ) color would contrast nicely.
Thanks
Good, Bad, I'm the guy with the gun!!!!

I've bought two antique coins from Worldwide Treasure Bureau. One of them is an original Edward I coin (like the one replicated in Roger Hooper's Sovereign). The other was a crusade-era Italian coin. Neither cost more than $100 or so.
Here's the contact info (from the American Numismatic Association Marketplace)

They have a nice catalogue. It's worth being on their mailing list.
Here's a link to an Amazon scan of one of their catalogues: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-...5?v=glance .

Hello Jonathon.I just used, a dab, of silicone caulk .I thought ,the more flexible glue, would hold up better to empact, than a more brittle glue.I couldn`t feel any wieght change or balance change. If you use a gold coin or other metal you might see a shift though.Thanks.Karl Knisley

You can find some coin replicas on the www.by-the-sword.com site. Those same coins can be found cheaper on a British site, but I don't remember its address.
You can find a goldish Edward IV coin replica at http://www.historicenterprises.com/cart.php?m...t&c=31
ArmArt carries a great set of ancient replica coins - www.antiquanova.com
That stone looks great in the Sovereign pommel recess.

Rubber cement works great. If applied to both surfaces then it isn't going to come off accidentally...but one can still pry the coin off without damaging it or the sword.
