So I go to Lowes and they have 5ft tall, 1 inch diameter oak and ash dowels for affixing paint rollers to, and I think to myself: "this would make an excellent shaft for a throwing spear!" As I do not have a proper head to affix to it, and I do not want to batter and blunt a proper spear head when learning how to throw it, what would you advise I use to make/attach a pseudo/cheap head for my throwing spear?

I forgot to mention that it has a 3/4 inch male screw system for the attachments. Is there anything I could screw onto this and maybe file to a point?
