They offer a couple of sets that include the wrestling jacket.

The second gambeson is on the daily deal for $49 over at MRL. Is it historical at all, maybe loosely? What era would it be placed in? (MRL claims it covers the entire medieval period, including the Renaissance, which is hard to believe).
Also is 100% cotton, which is hard to beat for the price. Anyone with experience with this piece?

It is ok. Those metal grommets are terrible and the lacing is a-historic at best.
They also look rather small on this guy so might be good to look at the sizing very carefully.
otherwise from the price might be worth a try. I'd save 50 bucks for a better one myself but if it is all you have might work with some work (and armour).

There is so much to consider investing in. I need to careful examine each option.
I think the most important thing may be to have an opinion from someone who uses a gambeson and lives in a tropical or hot country.
With that in mind and even though the given price is not for the set, the following option remains interesting:

Or... I could always show some pictures to a seamstress over here and ask her opinion.

Well... Just got a gambeson! I am yet to debut it training (hope to do so tomorrow), but it looks like it will get the job done! Thanks for the help!
PS: I tried to attach a picture but I got an error of "tried to attach an empty file".
