How about
this pommel from a South German hand-and-a-half, south German, circa 1515? It might be more scent-stopper than globular.

Beatiful sword, but, yes, that's the pear shape that appears to have been the most common on longswords of this period. The globular/pumpkin-shaped ones are very common in artwork but I don't see many surviving examples. I know of one example in artwork that appears to be perfectly round and smooth but that seems to be rare.
