We are pleased to announce the renaming of the tournaments to be held at the 2010 Open International Gathering! The tournaments will now be known as "The Hammertertz Forum Open International Tournament" as an honorific to the memory of the Hammertertz Forum magazine.
The Hammertertz Forum played an important role in the early modern movement to rediscover the Western martial arts by introducing and bringing together many of the once scattered enthusiasts to a common location. Owned and operated by J. Christoph Amberger, the Hammertertz Forum provided an environment for early modern researchers and practitioners to publish and spread the word on their latest efforts inspiring many new practitioners to join the ranks of the Western martial arts.
It is our hope that the Hammertertz Forum Open International Tournament will offer a physical representation of the continuing advancements of the Western martial arts in an open and competitive environment that also embodies the seriousness and spirit of the original Hammertertz Forum magazine.
In other tournament news, the voting competition on whether we host either a rapier or a dussack tournament is extremely close! Those registering in the next few days will definitely have an important voice in the final selection for this tournament. Register now to stand up and be counted!!!

Thanks to our great sponsors we will be offering prizes for tournament winners. Details are still being finalized and we’ll make announcements once everything has been settled.
A lot of talk and excitement has been building around these tournaments and the WMA world is eager to finally see the Pan-American talent on display in an “open” environment. Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to demonstrate your skills and make sure your school is nobly represented in the first annual Hammertertz Forum Open International Tournament!
Sincerely,
