Hi Guys
my Albion gladius is away having a sheath made and my mind has turned to the problem of pugio. Where can a decent one be obtained???????? Is Mark morrow still the best source, are any commercial ones available???
I have done a search here but apart from Mark Morrow there doesn't seem to be one of Albion quality.

Hey Philip, why don't you contact Leo Todeshini (Todsstuff). I had a custom dirk made, and it's really nice. A pugio shouldn't be any more difficult for him. plus, he's in your country

Ave!
Yeah, Mark Morrow does wonderful blades, though he may be making the hilts a tad large (easily solved by asking him to make them a little slimmer and shorter, I expect!). I don't know if he'll do a complete hilt or scabbard, though.
Craig Stitch of Manning Imperial also does an excellent pugio, though the hilt plates should generally be steel rather than brass.

Oh, I wonder if Matt Lukes does a pugio? He makes great stuff of all kinds. I don't think he has a website, but he has a sub-section in the Roman Army Talk Marketplace area:

If you can find a decent commercially-made pugio, we'd all love to see it. Deepeeka's is grudgingly acceptable, but still has annoying silly problems, and all the other mass-produced ones are way behind them.

Hi Guys or should I say Ave Omnes
thanks for the suggestions.
Have contacted Craig Sitch at Manning Imperial, I have a few pieces of his work (used to live in New Zealand)So will see what he has to say
Tod already has 4 projects on the go for me!!!!
Will contact Mark morrow, his work looks great
will also check out Matt Luke
Every Deepeeka pugio I have seen looks like it was made out of a truck spring i would like it too be a close match in quality for my gladius
has anyone seen the silver inlaid pugio offered by Get Dressed For Battle (UK)?????
Thanks
Phil
