What other kind of hilt styles would be appropriate for this kind of blade?
This is a m/1701 drabantvärja from Sweden.
I have a reproduction of this kind of sword/rapier and I am planning to make another hilt for it.
I want a hilt that is a bit more complex and/or elaborate, and in iron.
It would be nice if it was suitable historically, even if it´s not a requirement.
How about for example a Walloon hilt?

Walloons would work, baskethilts both English and Scottish would be fine, Mortuarys are appropriate, and there was even an English cavalry style of the early 1700s with two shell guards that used this blade profile.
Schiavona and various Germanic baskets would work, too.

Thank you for the reply.
That gives me a lot of options, wich is nice.
Most of those blades seem to have fullers (on the examples I have seen).
Does that mean they are more suitable for cutting?
