I've photographed another antique from my collection, which you might find interesting.
In this case, the blade is clearly in the Persian style, but (despite what Cold Steel/Windlass call their replicas in a similar style) the sword is Turkish/Ottoman (it came to me by way of Bulgaria).
It's actually not uncommon to see this Ottoman/Mameluke style of hilt fitted with a shamshir-style blade, either actual Persian blades (which were very widely traded throughout central/south Asia and the middle east), or local imitations. The Turks call them "cimcir" which I guess is just "shamshir" rendered into Turkish.
This particular example is extremely light, to the point of almost feeling flimsy, and I'm not sure it was intended as an actual fighting weapon, but there are much more substantial examples out there that were.
